J. David MagistrelliExecutive Director, M.S.
David is a graduate of Springfield College earning a Bachelor’s degree in Community Leadership and Business Administration. He obtained a Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Wisconsin.
His career has covered a wide range of business and community endeavors. He has worked with disadvantage youth in the inner cities, successfully turned around a 24-hour residential treatment facility for developmentally disabled youth, and was co-founder of two international professional associations in the health care field.
Prior to joining Habitat, David spent 22 years consulting to large and small business organizations, government agencies, and multi-national corporations strengthening their operations, through blending personal and corporate goals to achieve profitability for the organization.
He has been a speaker at national conventions addressing the issues of personal performance, organizational dynamics and balancing personal goals to empower others to achieve their successes. He is the author of various articles and publications found in Montana Business Journal, he wrote a Personal Development Program for management, and created a training program on diversity. In his spare time, he enjoys fly fishing, coaching local high school basketball and hiking.
Under his leadership at Habitat, their programs have expanded to keep in line with the changing mission of Habitat for Humanity International. Habitat has transition from building one house at a time to Critical Repairs, A Brush with Kindness and now, Habitat has obtained the status of a Community Housing Development Organization with the State of Montana making it eligible for federal funding for housing development. -
Kara Meier, M.A.Program Manager

Moving to Bozeman in 2000, Kara has over 20 years experience in nonprofit work spanning Minnesota, Vermont and Montana. With professional experience in populations experiencing homelessness, developmental disabilities, mental health, corrections and working with at-risk youth, she brings a wealth of knowledge about community resources and undeserved populations.
Kara graduated with her Bachelors in Sociology and Criminal Justice and has a masters degree in Psychology. She has an 11 year old daughter who is the light of her life. Kara enjoys everything her Montana backyard offers and when she's not at work, you'll find her in the mountains skiing, snowboarding, biking, hiking or camping. -
Drew McLaughlinAmeriCorps National Member and Volunteer Services Coordinator
Drew is originally from Plymouth, New Hampshire and moved to Bozeman recently to begin her service year with Habitat for Humanity and AmeriCorps. She is a recent graduate of Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH where she studied International and Developmental Economics and Hispanic Studies. While there, she developed a passion for service and the non-profit sector, mentoring local high school students as well as interning at a non-profit focused on homelessness in Philadelphia, PA. She is excited for her year with Habitat and to take advantage of all that Montana has to offer. Outside of work, you can find her biking through town, floating in one of Bozeman's many ponds, or browsing local thrift shops. -
Mark BakerConstruction Supervisor
Mark joined Habitat in 2013 and has been building houses and leading volunteers since. Prior to working at Habitat, Mark worked primarily in the construction trade as a carpenter and contractor, and brings over 40 years of experience. He also brings extensive experience with non-profits and working with volunteers in his work as Director of the Yellowstone Gateway Museum, and as President of both the Montana Bow-hunters Association, and the Traditional Bow-hunters of Montana, as well as teaching credentials as a volunteer Bow-hunter Education Instructor for 18 years.
Mark completed HS in Livingston, where he has lived for 45 years, and attended college at Montana State University. He and his wife Penny have two sons, both top-notch carpenters in the area as well. -
