Who We Are

Habitat for Humanity is a 501(c)3 nonprofit committed to giving the working class, who are the backbone of our community, a chance at affordable home ownership.

All across America, individuals and families struggle to find affordable places to live. Habitat seeks to remedy this injustice by providing hard-working people the opportunity to realize their dreams of homeownership.

Our organization was founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, durable place to live in dignity and safety, and that decent shelter in decent communities should be a matter of conscience and action for all. We welcome volunteers and supporters from all backgrounds and serve people in need of decent housing regardless of race or religion.

Founded in Americus, Georgia, USA, in 1976, Habitat for Humanity has helped build, renovate and repair more than 1 million homes for more than 5 million people around the world.
